Oorsee - The South African Expat Community App
Introducing Oorsee: a free app specifically designed for South African expats. We understand that relocating to a new country can be challenging for you and your family, especially when you lack a network of familiar faces. That's why we're here to help you connect with like-minded individuals, fostering a sense of comfort and aiding in your settlement process.
If you've been away for some time, we acknowledge that it can sometimes feel lonely, and you may yearn for the opportunity to share your experiences with fellow Saffas. By signing up for a free account, you can join our diverse range of groups and engage with other South African families who can relate to your journey.
For those in a position to assist new expats, our app provides a platform to post helpful information within relevant groups, enabling you to make a difference in helping them acclimate to their new home.
Are you someone who enjoys planning social events? Look no further! Our app offers an events creation tool that allows you to easily notify others whenever you're organizing family activities. Whether it's a delightful hike, a relaxing family picnic, or a classic Braai, you can share your plans and gather a community of participants.
Moreover, feel free to create your own groups and become a local champion, contributing to narrowing the search for fellow South Africans in your area. By doing so, you can foster a stronger sense of community and support within your specific location.
At Oorsee, we believe in the power of connection and sharing. Join us today to connect, support one another, and embark on an enriching expat experience. We look forward to seeing you there!

Koula Budler talks to Steven Phyffer from Oorsee.com about life in Texas and her career
Koula Budler is no stranger to the limelight of this world. She's held top jobs, rubbed shoulders with some of this planet's most famous celebs... and yet she knows the hardships of moving abroad, dealing with Visa applications, and the grinding of teeth when those childcare bills are due. From 5FM to expat in Texas, join me as I casually chat with Koula about what she has been up to for the past decade, the tears, the joy, and her hopes for the future. Currently situated in Texas, she shares about her life and the life of her husband and her four beautiful children.
I remember Koula as a vibrant, well-known DJ for 5FM, and the idea that I had of her back then is nothing like the human being I had the privilege of talking to in this interview. At the end of the day, it does not matter where we are from or how good we had it. When it comes to moving 'Oorsee', the struggle is as real as it is for the next person.
Koula has a passion for baking and is currently running a successful business in Texas. But the love of the Radio never left her, and when the WhatsApp message came in one morning asking her if she would be interested in taking up a role for 919FM, she grabbed at it with open arms. Currently, she is piloting their new series sharing adventures and journeys of South African expats abroad.
