That's why we're here to help you connect with like-minded individuals, fostering a sense of comfort and aiding in your settlement process.
If you've been away for some time, we acknowledge that it can sometimes feel lonely, and you may yearn for the opportunity to share your experiences with fellow Saffas. By signing up for a free account, you can join our diverse range of groups and engage with other South African families who can relate to your journey.
For those in a position to assist new expats, our app provides a platform to post helpful information within relevant groups, enabling you to make a difference in helping them acclimate to their new home.
Are you someone who enjoys planning social events? Look no further! Our app offers an events creation tool that allows you to easily notify others whenever you're organizing family activities. Whether it's a delightful hike, a relaxing family picnic, or a classic Braai, you can share your plans and gather a community of participants.
Moreover, feel free to create your own groups and become a local champion, contributing to narrowing the search for fellow South Africans in your area. By doing so, you can foster a stronger sense of community and support within your specific location.
At Oorsee, we believe in the power of connection and sharing. Join us today to connect, support one another, and embark on an enriching expat experience. We look forward to seeing you there!

Help Jo-Anne & Rafael Bring Their Twin Nieces Home Amidst Life’s Challenges
As Hurricane Milton approaches South Florida, Jo-Anne and Rafael Alvarez face an even greater personal storm. They are urgently working to adopt their twin baby nieces, who were born in South Africa on January 31st, 2024, after the tragic loss of their sister-in-law. With their brother partially blind and unable to care for the girls, Jo-Anne and Rafael have stepped up to provide a loving, stable home.
Living in South Florida, Jo-Anne, who was adopted herself, knows the life-changing impact of a supportive family. But the international adoption process is complex and costly, with the added pressure of a looming court deadline to secure custody.
They are asking for help—through donations and prayers—to bring their nieces home safely. Every bit of support will help them overcome these challenges.
